I was really confused as to why there was a need to interview this woman. Sure that man had/has a record label, magazine and what have you. He also trafficked huge amounts of coke and drugs, had a network of other criminals, not the least of which were murderers. He and they ruined their lives, the lives of others and ended (dead) the lives of some more.

…And Frank Ski paid some scant lip service to those fact and went on to big up the company and offered to connect folks interested with doing business with BMF. Very confused and disappointed, to put it mildly.

he did it because it needed to be done. dude had to have some smart to turn the drug game into a legit business…which he did. first and formost anyone who decided to join bmf did so of his or she own free will. if a life was runied please blame it on that persona and the poor choice they have made. for real my brother is a killer and my mom would never turn her back on him. she sees him 4 times a month and gets up on her only day off at 5 am to do it. she is not big uping anything he did she is just tellin how it was and is.

I did specify that each person ruined his/her own life and that people Big M put on killed some folks, not necessarily M himself.

Quote: “He also trafficked huge amounts of coke and drugs, had a network of other criminals, not the least of which were murderers. He and they ruined their lives, the lives of others and ended (dead) the lives of some more.”

Of course his mom loves him. I wouldn’t turn my back on my child if he or she did something like this, but I wouldn’t be singing their praises. I’d have expressed guilt that I failed them at the least… And I said Frank was big-upping the company.

Why is V-103 and Frank Ski glorifying a convicted drug dealer who is responsible for murders of a few Atlanta citizens? The murders of Ulysses Hackett and Misty Carter? What about them Frank? Comparing Meech to the CEO of IBM? ARE YOU SERIOUS DUDE? Y’all are backwards as hell.

    July 15, 2010 2:25 pm

He is not responsible for Msity Cater’s untimely death!!! It was her live in boyfriend, who was testfying against his associates, (who was not Meechie) was responsible!!

    July 15, 2010 2:49 pm

I agree, being a drug dealer that has 200 street goons under him,is very different from running a company with 10,000 different individuals with all different ethics and international locations. A drug empire has 2 or 3 different products, IBM has thousands of smaller companies that sell 100′s of products each. Its an insult for people to say any drug dealer could of ran a fortune 500 company, cause they know how to traffic drug. Mexican cartels transport million more tons of cocaine than BMF, but surly they couldnt be the chairman of microsoft. (GTFOH, fast!!!!)

You can only hear Ms Lucille’s response. I am actually happy to hear V103 do such an interview. People always assume or state that people who sale drugs are evil people who deserve nothing! I do not agree with that. People make bad decisons all the time and somet\ of them learn from their mistakes, however, it is a reality in the community and many people can relate to this man’s situation! I think it is awesome Frank & Wanda!!!

I’m dissappointed with v103 for this. They are acting as if this guy is a postive role model. frank u people speak on god so often and how our people need help and the state of our community but then you treat this convicted felon as if he is a king or something…wtf? really frank? i always thought wanda was an air head…u are also in that boat…

V103 & Frank Ski – Are you for real? This dude was super flossy and Flamboyant so to paint this picture of him as some other type of dude is wrong. Tell this to someone who hasnt live in Atlanta for the last 17 yrs. Dude, his brother and father were all criminals and shouldnt be celebrated. That’s what’s wrong with our people and esp. our Rappers – they celebrate Gangters and Drugs like that stuff is cool. I would say I’m shocked but in listening to Frank Ski over the years I’m not. This is one of the many reasons more and more Black people arent buying music or listening to the radio – this is insulting to anyone who doesnt have a two digit IQ.

LOL – this cornball will talk about Big Meech and interview his momma in one breath and then play the inspirational vitamin in another. Meech and Southwest were thugs son. Straight up and they got what all thugs get prison time. I’m so sick of the cocaine, cocaine, cocaine! it has destroyed our neighborhoods LITERALLY and instead of trying to rid our communities of drugs, drug dealers and the thug image. We glorify it. T.I. (fake), Rick Ross (super fake), Jeezy (fake) the list goes on and on. Wake up black people wake up!

Denise

As someone who just lost a childhood friend to drug use last week, this interview was a slap in the face. My friend, who was a mother of 3 and from a middle class family, started using drugs to deal with her depression. She was 36 years old. Her husband, who introduced her to drugs, previously died. Her children are void of their immediate family. Her mother is devastated. Sad thing is that this is not something new to anyone. I’m sure there are a lot of people who can tell this same story.

As a community, we need to get it together. Frank Ski, you are a hypocrite. Why do you think people going to work want to hear this? How did your advertisers feel about this? I feel bad for Ms. Flenory because she gave up two extremely smart sons to the system. I personally wish Meech could have used his intelligence to do something great AND 100% LEGAL. I don’t like to hear about ANY BLACK MAN in prison. We need to save our black men and the black family- both are endangered. This man is behind bars, in confinement 23 hours a day. His father was in jail- and now his children have the same fate. People have died. Other’s followed him to prison. And all you want to know is how he feels about Rick Ross screaming his name in a song? REALLY?!?!? And they just want to keep his name alive? Why would you want to relive this tragedy? Why not give people a way to stay out of jail/don’t follow me?

We have to stop glorifying this crime/drug culture. Our people are dying daily because of our need to act as though doing wrong and being hard is okay. It’s not! We are bigger than that! My child deserves more- and so do all of our children- most of whom were in the car when you decided to broadcast this foolishness.

And if a man, with 3 boys; a children’s foundation; and a radio to broadcast to one of the largest radiuses in metro Atlanta in the time of Obama wants to support this, then I cannot continue to support the avenue that allows him to do so. PERIOD.

I pray for all of you.

Really Frank Ski? So she did a great job? How about interview the parents of Misty Carter and Prince Drummond who actually did do a “great” job raising their kids to be productive citizens but their lives were taken by followers of Ms. Lucille’s son here in Atlanta! So you’re promoting the ‘BMF brand’? Why does it feel like the ‘brand’ is what they would stamp the dope with that was distributed throughout the country and negatively and tragically affected the lives of OUR people and communities! Frank Ski and V103 should be ashamed of themselves. But this is a perfect example of how the media attempts to negatively shape our thoughts! Shame on you!

This guy had Black men killed, here in your beloved city! Now, you give is dilusional mother some air time. Good men dont get 30yrs of time in a Federal Prison. Frank Ski it the strangest person i know on the radio. That man is insane. I don’t even think he thinks when he talks. Money is the name of his game. This man is congratulating a woman whose son is a drug dealer. Saying how proud she must be. Frank… her son is a murderer. He sells drugs, What are you talking about? I don’t get it. Frank Ski probably hangs up the phone and laughs himself all the way to the bank thinking about how stupid “we” all must be to still be listening to his commentary. But I don’t worry. Cause the God that he supposedly discusses during his spiritual vitamin moment will straighten Mr. Ski right on up. Mark my words.

I couldn’t listen to the interview this morning in its entirety so I couldn’t wait to get home to what it entailed. I am a native of Atlanta and have lived here my entire life (39 years). I must have been living under a rock to not have know about this unfortunate story of another black man (multiple black men) failing at being productive in life. I read the history of the BMF empire and was really surprised and disappointed to find that these young black men lacked guidance and decided to, therefore, live a life of crime as a means of survival (drug trafficking, money laundering, and murder). I really hope that this interview was not an intent to glorify the lifestyles of the members of BMF. According to my research, Meech had become a prominent businessman in Atlanta who frequented Clubs, restaurants, lavish private parties, etc. with the likes of celebrities in the Entertainment Industry, as well as, local celebrities. He was accepted as an honest successful businessman. Yes I agree that this gentleman was street smart and perhaps even brilliant in his ability to turn a hussle of selling crack cocaine as a high school child, into a multi-million dollar business. It saddens me, however, to know that just because he attained wealth by being corrupt, those who traveled within the same circle accepted this as being okay. How many of those associates told him that a life of crime would lead to distruction? How many of the so called friends told this man that a way to success is to first have integrity? How many elite businessmen and women who enjoyed the fruits of his illegal labor, told him that he needed to know Jesus and ask for forgiveness for his sins. I doubt of any of them did.

I thought that Frank Ski would have focused on how their lifestyle led to two sons getting 30 years to life in prison. Surely Frank pointed out that yes the concept of getting rich illegally was genius but it didn’t last forever. Frank should have mentioned that the BMF empire came crumbling down after the government spent years watching them, they then allowed them to rise to the top, and when they finally had enough evidence to bring the head of BMF down they did just that. I didn’t hear any of this on the interview. Young people aspiring to be like Big Meech and his brother need to know that you can’t win in a life of crime. Rick Ross putting them on a pedestal is so not cool! I will not be purchasing the CD next week! I don’t want my kids to be like Big Meech.

Book deals, movies, name mentions in songs is a bunch of crap. This interview basically showed me that a mother was proud of her highly intelligent sons for making sure she and the rest of the family was taking care of for life and Frank basically thanked Meech for the bottles of wine. Very disappointing!

Wow….first let me say, usually I think Frank Ski talks too much; however this time he didn’t provide enough information. Contrary to popular belief not everyone listening to V103 is abreast to all criminals associated with the world of Hip Hop.
After researching who BMF is/was; who gives a damn what his mother thinks about Rick Ross song…..

Frank needs to decide if he’s going to promote inspirational vitamins to our youth or instigate B.S!

July 15, 2010 11:26 pm

This is to the two negative people that wrote things that they are not aware of, just media and other talk. If they knew Meech the comments that was made would have never been said. He was not a murderer nor was he ever convicted of one. I am quite sure the two negative people that wrote the negative comments also have some member of their family who has been in some kind of contact with drugs, using or selling, but they will never speak on that. If you can’t say something good don’t say nothing at all. You don’t know this man. One who have bought clothes for children in Atlanta to go to school, and put food on a lot of tables. Put Baby Bleu through college, and he did graduate. I could go on and on about this man.

All of the devastation that was caused.. unbelievable. Yes everyone makes mistakes.. but this was not a mistake. It was deliberate and ruthless behavior. It seemed as if Frank was promoting him with respect and that is unacceptable.

    July 16, 2010 2:32 pm

I have to agree with the posters that said that if you really knew Meech, you wouldn’t be saying the things that you’re saying. I’ve known him for 18 years, way before this whole “BMF” thing and he is still a good person. Even though the funds may have been ill-gotten, they weren’t all used for cars and jewelry. He paid for a lot of college educations, fed and clothed families, etc. He is not a murderer! And his mother should have unwavering love for her sons.

I’m definitely not glorifying the drug enterprise, but GOD gave us ALL freedom of choice. It’s crazy that everyone wants to villainize Meech. The drug addicts choose to use drugs just like alcoholics choose to drink, and smokers choose to smoke. They’re all addictions. These vices are known to kill, but you can go right into a corner store and purchase them, with no problems or repercussions…

They went after Meech & BMF, but I have yet to see the government arrest and lock up the Hennessy family for all the people that have died violently from drinking that shit. Or all the people that die from cancer because they smoke Newports. Truth be told, they should bring the whole Bush family up on charges. They’ve killed more people and ravaged our communities more than Meech or BMF could ever do.

As large as Meech and BMF appeared to everyone in Atlanta, they are really small in this gruesome game. It’s so much bigger than them. In a few years, we’ll see another organization pop up and then get locked up. It’ll happen over and over again. That’s the way it’s designed. Until we as a people realize that, we’ll forever be majoring in the minor.

I want to take this opportunity to make this cmment real specific . To Tony, Tiffany, Miss Reed, Paula, Le Le, Cleo, Lisa, M Love, Denise, The Real Black Man, and J Carter what you all have loss sight of is at the end of the day this woman is a MOTHER and as we all know we can raise our kids and teach them right from wrong, we love them as much as we can and then send them out in the world as individuals to make there own decisions and as a mother whether they are right or wrong we still love them. So before you disrespect this woman think about how many times you did something that your mother did not approve of, is she still your mother. Drug use is a choice, a life altering choice but it is a choice just like what radio station you listen to is a choice. Frank Ski is in the multi media business whi

I never said anything about Meech’s mother. I never mentioned her name nor did I disrespect her in any way. The whole “drugs are a choice statement” is true to some degree but to glorify the black people who sell drugs in the usa when you know the drug houses, crack spots, dilapidated buildings and poor neighborhoods are predominately black – is like supporting genocide and if you or anyone else cant see that – that’s even sadder than CBS paying a DJ millions of dollars to broadcast a message from this guys mother like he was a hero …Malcolm was a hero, martin a hero, Mandela is a hero – pls wake up black folk and stop defending madness. Stop glorifying violence and thug imagery on one hand and blaming white people for your lack of progression on the other. Make this kids pull up their pants, get the loiters and beggars out of our communities, vote; raise your kids to be doctors, engineers, lawyers, builders, creators. Let’s make more families and stop leaving babies without fathers. Like we really gotta fix ourselves man. To argue for days over whether or not it was right for Frank Ski to give big ups to a known criminal – like that shouldn’t even be up for debate. It was wrong on all levels but we are so lost that some us sit here and try to support this nonsense because he gave out school books or turkeys like Nino brown – this is too sad.

Which gives him the platform to keep the community aware. He is a journalist and he may not necessarily agree with every interview he does but he is not bias. For those of who have comvicted this man of murder in your mind all I can say is that this man has not been convicted of murder at all and I pray that your heart heals. And please don’t speak of the bible when clearly you folks are hypocrites. Love thy sinner but hate thy sin is what I was taught so if you are still crucifying a man that you don’t even know with so much hatred in your heart that makes you no better than the real individual that took these lives. With ot without Meech drug use is still a relevant issue in our communities and has been since before most of you were born so what are you doing in your community to affect change because posting on this blog only shows me that you are more part of the problem than you are part of the cure. Their ratings should be triple toilet water, and that is why so many people complain of their show. Get with the real world V-103 and get you a new Morning Crew so that many of us will come back as before!!

All these Black people(im black so dont get it twisted) and basically all yall saying is stupid stuff. You dont know Meech,Ms.Lucille and hell the only reason you know Frank and Wanda is because you listen to the radio. As far as the Dumb Broad who commented and said she done with rap music, who cares who are you? Are you rich can you get on live tv and tell everybody dont buy it just because you’re not listening to it? i dont think so so my advice is for you to find a hobby like playing in traffic..It disgust me to see black people down playing the fact that is has to be some truth other than what we know from tv some where but its cool thats why us as a race is falling apart and as long as we have idiots like the ones on here saying stupid stuff we will always be bottom of the food chain!!!

many who r dissing frank for this interview have probally seen american gangsta that starred denzel and denzel was highly praised for doing a role that was the true story of gangsta. also that gangsta frank lucas is now out and he sold millions of dollars worth of drugs. he’s out now getting legit money from a life a crime..and u same people support denzel when he got his first role bc the head guy b4 suge knight of deathrow was his friend and use his drug money to get a productioncompany/record label then he let his gangsta friend suge knight lead the label as he is doing his long sentence as i type. denzel washington was apart of deathrow production/record company who is supposedly responsisble 4 gangsta rap beef. so b4 u cast stones think about if u wake up yourself and do everything in according to the way GOD wants YOU to and you shall make YOUR world better. how many of u make something happen for a community regardless if your opinions seem valid or not?

we came from the gutter and we still here. so i guess big meech was the drug dealer the police was supposedly looking for at the 90 something year lady who was gunned down too. and bc of franks personal opinions he was to blame for the judges not convicting all the officers as well. or was meech so big is he the reason its been a so called reccession since he been locked up too? and bc frank’s opinions is bc we r in other people country blowing up they whole city and families. and big meech brought dope to our communities as well. and big meech got seniors loosing their homes trying to buy dope/medication to stay alive. or frank opions is to blame for nudity and profanity on regular tv. oh yeah frank is heard all over the u.s.a so he is to blame for ur childs school being low budgeted….come on people live ur life accordingly. i cant say a difference, make a difference. frank is in the entertainment buisness, not politics. D.J FRank. u got to change ur community, not the radio. Frank community is straight, believe that. it sounds like yall issues r with ur government. what frank says is legal and respect means even if dont agree u must treat a person with intergrity. one sin is not greater than the other. even if i stole some candy b4 is no different than robbing a bank. only GOD knows the heart which is y HE is the only judge and besides meech and frank came from my same GOD so i shall respect GOD and follow his rules by not judging or cast any stone and take full control of my destiny so others including children can follow and pray to be right with who it all matters with, GOD.

When i read everyones comments I had to lol. All this was about is Frank Ski getting that 1st face to face interview with Big Meech. We all know Frank is full of BS!!!! Frank & everyone on the radio is about the NOW!!! But what makes me laugh more is 90% of you ppl voted for a man because Frank said you wasn’t black if you didn’t vote for him.
See, I understand why everyone likes the song. Why most ppl want to hear about Big Meech. Why Fake Ross made the song. Big Meech mother is just trying to pay her bills. Right or wrong! Everybody has always made a dollar off of Meech’s name. Even when he was on the streets.

Frank and Wanda are *****! simple and plain – the fake rick ross rapper dude that is giving shouts out to Larry Hoover and Meech is also a major ****. Shucking for these corporations who could care less about our neighborhoods, our kids, and the plight of blacks in general. They do care about one thing – the same thing Meech cared about YOUR MONEY! and they will sell you out to get it. Frank Ski wouldn’t want one of his kids to go to jail and be on 23 hr a day lock down, or to walk around with his under wear showing while trying to hold his pants up with on hand, he wouldnt want one of his sons to sell or use cocaine. He’d be embarrassed to see one his kids coonin’ but he’ll make you think he is “one of you” and that this whole thug culture thing is “cool” and he is “down with you etc” FOR A PAY CHECK and a nice sized pay check to boot. This is just a business for CBS and DEF JAM – we are simply pawns in the game.

    Frank, U F----ed Up!

True words, thas why we will always be fighting, killing and selling drugs to each other—for the almighty dollar. I felt like I was in the twilight zone listening to this interview, not the “mecca” of up and coming black folk called Atlanta. Stand up for your ALL your people frank…stand up.

Exactly you’d expect more from V103′s air talent. Mike and carol in the morning from back in the 90′s would have never done an interview with a drug dealer’s momma and propped the drug dealing son up as a hero. Atlanta used to be a city where blacks came to seek success…LEGITIMATE success – the thug culture that permeates thru this city now is disgusting. Its no longer the black Mecca – I moving to Maryland LOL Atl is a joke now man over run with coonery and buffoonery. & all you bloggers and email thugs claiming to be “down” with meech LOL …you are a joke. Real thugs aren’t on the internet homie.Like really cmon man. This is so high school-ish – all the smart folks are disappointed in Frank and V103 and making very valid point about how drugs have all but destroyed us and shouldn’t be glorified and then you got the cyber thugs trying to defend this non sense …”keepin’ it real” and saying how we don’t understand b/c its hard out here and he fed people. You don’t think it’s hard for everyone of us? its hard simply b/c we are black in America but we don’t all go out and commit crimes and sell drugs

We gotta get back to being black and proud and promoting education and create opportunities for ourselves, our community and our race before we kill each other off…racist dont have to kill us anymore we are simply gonna destroy ourselves…its sad man – it really is

Meech is not smart… he’s just another n**** in jail. How can you call him smart… he was a drug kingpin who wanted fame… Nicky Barnes did it and look at him.

BIG MEECH IS JUST ANOTHER N**** IN JAIL. THAT’S IT.

She don’t even know who Officer Willie L. Roberts II aka Imposter Rick Ross is and its obvious she don’t know what that song is about b/c if she did there is no way she would speak so highly of it. I know she is Meech n Terry’s mom but she failed as a parent! She failed to provide for them the welfare/education so they wouldn’t have to use drugs/crime to live a better life. Mrs. Flenory ur part of the problem not the solution!

Frank and everyone at V103 are JOKES, and should be ashamed of themselves for this interview. I’m disgusted! “Contact information” “business with BMF”, are you kidding me? Is this what you and your staff are about? Theres countless ppl around the country who have not only heard that horrible song by the fakest rap artist around, Rick Ross, but have now also heard you glorifying drug dealers ON AIR. I’m just baffeled and down right confused about why you took the time to interview this woman. Please help me understand.
