Did You Know About The 9-11 Teardrop Monument?

Neither did I until today. Read on about this magnificent monument, where it came from and how residents in New Jersey are rallying to keep it from being moved!

This 100 foot tall monument, to remember the victims of September 11, 2001 and the 1993 World Trade Center Bombings, was donated to the U.S. from the people of Russia, September 11th , 2006 2:30 pm. It sits at the Peninsula at Bayonne Harbor, New Jersey,  and stands in direct view of the Statue of Liberty and the former World Trade Center.  The inscription reads:  “To the Struggle Against World Terrorism” The names of the persons killed on 9/11 are inscribed on the base like the Vietnam Memorial wall. It was created by Russian sculptor Zurab Tsereteli.
