The annual Coachella festival in California rears its head this weekend – showcasing the hottest superstars and the most exciting up and coming acts in music.
The final night at Coachella is headlined by one of the most successful stars in the world today – Kanye West. With 86,696,375 total scrobbles he does trail the headliners of the previous night, Kings of Leon (99,328,460 scrobbles) however it is surely set to be a memorable ‘I was there’ occasion.
Fans of Kanye West should be pleased to learn that earlier on in the day long-standing hip hop artist Nas will take time out from working on his tenth studio album to perform in front of the festival crowd. “N.Y. State of Mind” is taking in approximately 4,000 listeners a week on Last.fm – impressive considering his last studio album was released in 2008.
The first day of Coachella sees the appearance of Swedish pop sensation Robyn, who saw 7,610 listeners of her track “Dancing On My Own” last week – part of her well-received three-part album Body Talk. She’s another act that Kanye’s fans will enjoy, and she’s a notoriously great act in front of festival crowds.
