On what would have been his 40th birthday, rapper-actor-(and one-time Atlantan) Tupac Shakur was celebrated by his mother (Afeni), numerous celebrities (co-host Mike Epps, headliner Erykah Badu, Bun B, Too Short, Warren G, Jasmine Guy, T.C. Carson), hundreds of fans – and in true Elvis fashion, at least one impersonator -  Thursday at Atlanta Symphony Hall.

Days before the festivities Epps visited both V-103′s Frank and Wanda Morning Show AND Greg Street; there was a birthday-eve – and now-discounted - admission from a convicted murdered who claimed to have shot and wounded Shakur in 1994; a look back at the hip-hop icon’s music in videos; and now, the gallery above, as seen through the lens of FreddyO.

I love his music, even though he was so many ways a broken sprit but I think on a journey. It is shame that he was not around to reach everything he wanted to be not only in the entertainment world but also in his sprit.
