As a young boy in Detroit, Stevland Morris used to go to the railroad tracks to find coal that had fallen off the trains to warm his family’s home.

Now the Motown legend known around the world as Stevie Wonder is cherished like a diamond as rare as his many talents- a testament to his achievement in music, and his activisim on or off the stage.

So when a baked chicken dinner at Frank Ski’s Restaurant & Lounge was followed by a visit hours later on the proprietor’s Frank and Wanda Morning Show, little wonder that Stevie Wonder’s appearance was as wide-ranging as the 62-year-old’s experiences: veering from fiery talk about the political climate days before the presidential election (“To me, the extreme right…are no different than the Taliban”); back to his younger days when he took his first plane trip, ever, to Atlanta; to a recent health scare; to yes, an answer to a seemingly impossible question for a singer-songwriter-producer who has been a recording artist for five decades: Which one in that catalog is your favorite?

“You’ve made my career!” Frank Ski declared afterwards. “This is like the greatest interview of my entire radio career.”
