Last night I witnessed Rihanna in concert for the first time live at the Philips Arena, and I must tell you that I was quite impressed!

She hit the stage at exactly 9:48 p.m. – although the concert ticket said showtime was 7:30 p.m. – but her tardiness was excused because of her stellar performance.

She opened up the show in what seemed to be something that you would wear to a church in Rome. (And I was nervous at the thought of the Lord watching all of us screaming, half-intoxicated fans).

At one point in time she was dancing in thigh-high white boots with six-inch heels. I was impressed. There was even a point in the show when she ran through the audience.

You can tell she has reggae roots by the way she was moving her body to the music. Not sure what type of diet plan she is on, but her body looks amazing! (I now understand why Drake and Chris Brown were allegedly fighting over her).

Several outfit changes later, plus a dozen background dancers and enough hits to make her the just-announced first artist in the Billboard magazine era to have 10 No. 1 hits meant, again, “Ri Ri” truly put on a show.

And a lot of Atlanta celebrities came out to support it, including Ludacris, Jermaine Dupri, Young Jeezy and T.I – who all posted photos on their Instagram page of them hanging out with Rihanna backstage.

Rihanna returned the local love from the stage, saying at one point during the concert that she liked Atlanta “because y’all ratchet.”

Check out the song that Rihanna dedicated to the ATL as well as photos of her on stage. Also, listen to audio from some of her dedicated fans that were in attendance last night.
