[REVIEW] “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” S2E9: Game Changers

Last night’s episode was GREAT.

We got a chance to see progress in some areas, and the same hot mess in others.

But most of all…

We saw some of the cast members attempt to change the game.

Stevie J and Joseline have already decided they can play by their own rules. The two are still on the rise together after only meeting six months before the first season started.

Now I told you guys last week that rumors were circulating that they had tied the knot in Puerto Rico. Well at the 10th Annual Car and Bike Show last Saturday, Joseline said she actually shot three music videos in Puerto Rico, but would neither confirm nor deny the marriage rumor.

But hey, Ryan Cameron did confirm that the ring she’s wearing on her left hand is new and bigger and the diamond is clearer.

(Hmmmm… Pimping ain’t dead; it just moved to reality TV, I see).

But one thing that disturbed me was when these two said they’re like Barack and Michelle (Obama), but better. Slow your roll. You ain’t change the game that much. Have a seat.

But Mimi and Stevie did something big last night. They called a truce and even went on a date with their daughter. I hope their relationship stays like this because they can actually change the way their viewers (mostly ghetto birds and baby daddies) look at co-parenting while dating.

That’s all I have for Mimi cause she is being a real clown in other aspects of her life.

Just like when K. Michelle apologized to her after she and Ariane were at church listening to K sing. I still don’t know if she ever accepted K’s apology because she said nothing. Her excuse was she’s drained from the week of unfortunate events and church just wasn’t the place for them to reconcile.

Huh? Girl please. You should have laid it at the alter and kept it moving.

But I like how K. Michelle is slowly changing her game plan. Of all the clowns on the show I never thought she’d make it. But she is, and you know why? Because she’s putting her music first. That was supposed to be the game plan for all these clowns, but they’ve gotten sidetracked.

But I wouldn’t say Lil Scrappy has been sidetracked… MORE LIKE DERAILED ALTOGETHER!

You see, he didn’t realize the game changed a while ago with social networking; so when he was crossing state lines without permission, he didn’t know his probation officer was watching.

Then she hit him with a POP QUIZ (a.k.a. RANDOM DRUG TEST). The pee sample wasn’t clean so a warrant was issued. And we all know what happened next because Scrappy is now in rehab.

Now THAT’S a game changer because normally you see rappers just go to jail like it’s going to the mall. But he took the high road (no pun intended – LOL) – or should I say The Disturbed Child Star Road – and went to rehab. Good luck to him.

But I can’t say the two women in his life are having much luck. Last night they almost came to blows. (But I thought he broke up with both of them? Who knows!)

Anyway, shout-outs to Karlie Redd. She has a hair line and a champagne or something. I’ll be looking for that in all the hood marts.

(Really, I know y’all see me on Bankhead at the beauty supply next to the Family Dollar.)

Karlie has changed the game by letting us know life can still go on even if you haven’t reached all your goals by 40.

And unfortunately that’s what my good friend Rasheeda is going through.

She hasn’t done much but be a local female rapper and wife. Now she’s feeling the pressure to take her career to new heights. Only problem is she has a big belly weighing her down.

I’m just upset right now because last night she had the nerve to shoot a music video to a song called “Hit It From The Back”!

Now look, I’ve condoned the foolery for too long. I actually love that song with Kandi “Legs To The Moon”, but I’m not about to watch a woman with a baby in her stomach talk like that. No way.

And Deb Antney – who I love – was back with some advice. She tried to tell Rasheeda that moving on her rapping career in spite of Kirk was a bad move and could hurt her in the long run.

Deb offered several solutions to filling this void in her career – a hair line, a cosmetics line, and a clothing and accessories line. Honestly, I’d buy into that; but I can’t do her music much longer. Deb advised her that she could change the game if she just took a step back and looked at other options.

Can we please find a permanent spot for Deb on the show?!

Stay Tuned…
