Today, one man shared so much with The Ryan Cameron Morning Show, that we just had to start rolling tape. Every person in the studio was captivated. And by the time the precious moments were over, Ryan gave what he said was his first standing ovation to a guest.

Rev. C.T. Vivian is one of the civil rights movement’s pioneers, working alongside people such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Rep. John Lewis and Jesse Jackson so that he could possibly see the day this country had its first black president. And on Nov. 20 he will be honored with the nation’s highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal Of Freedom, from President Barack Obama.

This Saturday, however, Atlanta will celebrate Vivian with a congratulatory send-off salute and reception at the City Hall Atrium.

Before the festivities, however, things got pretty fiery when he discussed the recent temporary government shutdown; reportedly waged – at least initially – to dismantle the Affordable Care Act frequently called “Obamacare.” Vivian, in turn, likened the Tea Party to confederates; adding, “When they say ‘Obamacare,’ that was a way of putting [the president] down!”

Watch what else he had to say about the use of the “N Word,” Dr. King’s willingness to die, and his thoughts on the upcoming movie & who will be playing Dr. King, above.
