By Ryan Cameron

On The Ryan Cameron Morning Show With Wanda Smith we have a monthly check-in with the Mayor Kasim Reed – usually after something remarkable has happened.

This time something remarkable happened, during…

This time around – his first visit since his State of the City address – Mayor Reed was clearly energized about his recent visits to Silicon Valley (to generate more interest in venture capitol and technology companies doing business in Atlanta) and the University of Chicago Institute of Politics (where he not only joined his New York, Los Angeles and Chicago peers on a panel, but he taught a class AND kept office hours). Plus there was the matter of his three main priorities of his second term to discuss: crime and public safety; the infrastructure backlog and again, job creation.

But the moment that stole the show was when the avid music fan asked to hear a song from the new album, “Love, Marriage, Divorce” by R&B legends Toni Braxton & Babyface.

And before Babyface could even get out the first tentative coos of the midtempo ballad “Hurt You,” Mayor Reed seemed transported from the studio.

And one verse into it he declared: “I can go be mayor today!”

Watch the transformation, above.
