Gulf Shores, Alabama seems like a nice, quiet place for a family beach vacation.  361 days out of the year, this would be the perfect place to take the kids, unwind and soak up some sun.  However, from May 15-18 the calming sound of waves on the surf is replaced by four days of rock n roll, hip hop, EDM and a variety of genres in between.

Once you’ve checked through the essential summer music festival guide, take a look at the hip hop acts not to be missed at Hangout Music Fest 2014.

If you’re in the southeast and didn’t catch Outkast at CounterPoint Festival (shame on you, ATLiens!), the Southern Hip Hop Gods have chosen to smile upon you and present a second shot at seeing Andre and Big Boi do what they do best.  Catch Outkast Snappin’ & Trappin’ on the main Hangout Stage closing out the festival on Sunday night.

New York is coming to the beach with newcomer Le1f.  Known for his previous work producing tracks for Das Racist, his recent EP Hey has caused quite a bit of hype.  See what the buzz is about on Sunday at the Red Bull Sound Select Stage.

After cancelling a few appearances, Chance the Rapper seems to be alive and well and is heading for the Gulf.  At only 21 years old, Mr. Bennett’s Acid Rap mixtape took high ranking on many publications’ top 50 albums of 2013 lists.

What can’t Donald Glover do?  This guy was on the show Community, wrote for 30 Rock, does stand up comedy and, oh yeah, is a pretty decent rapper.  No stranger to the festival circuit, Childish Gambino will be blowing minds at the Boom Boom Tent on Friday.

Set to release a new album, Blacc Hollywood, later this year, Wiz is taking some time to stop by the Chevrolet Stage on Friday.  It has already been revealed that we can expect guest appearances from Miley Cyrus, Adele and Juicy J on his new record, so maybe Mr. Khalifa will bring some friends down to Hangout.

Check out the rest of the line-up here.

Kurt will be singing along to every word during Outkast’s set.  Tweet @theactualkurt and tell him to keep it down.
