The wait for Lil Wayne’s prison memoir has been longer than his eight month incarceration.

Gone Til November, which is titled after the first letter Wayne wrote in prison, was initially scheduled for release in 2012. Now, publisher Penguin Random House has announced the book will hit the shelves October. 11, almost four years later than expected.

The memoir is based on Wayne’s diaries from his eight months at New York’s biggest prison, Rikers Island, in 2010. The rapper was sentenced after being caught with an illegal .40 caliber pistol after police saw him smoking marijuana following his gig at New York’s Beacon Theatre.

Wayne’s letters from prison were first published on the website Thank You Weezy, and they highlighted how Wayne was coping with prison life. He wrote at the time that he read the Bible every day and worked out a lot.

Earlier this month, Wayne suffered a seizure on board his private jet, forcing an emergency landing.
