For four consecutive nights, protesters have gathered calling for police reform. The rallies are in response to the recent shootings by police of African American men across the nation. Tonight, another protest is planned in Atlanta. Demonstrators with the movement known as Black Lives Matter say this time they’ll gather in Buckhead.
An estimated ten thousand people rallied in Atlanta on Friday. It was followed by a considerably smaller group on Saturday. The later protest ended with several arrests. Hundreds gathered Sunday, with some clashing with Georgia State Troopers.
The protests come following the recent police-involved shootings in Baton Rouge, Louisiana of Alton Sterling, and in St. Paul, Minnesota of Philando Castile. Last Thursday, five law officers died when a sniper opened fire in Dallas, Texas.
