Born in Beckley, W.Va., Sytonnia never dreamed of lights or cameras. The country girl wanted to be a teacher. But as fate would have it, her life took a turn when, as a teenager, while attending a basketball game, the then 17-year old was approached by a local TV producer who invited her to join the on-air talent roster for “Video Visions,” a music video show similar in format to BET and MTV. Subsequently, Sytonnia graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism, not education. Her junior year in college, the program director for the now defunct WNFQ- Mix 100.5, saw Sytonnia on TV and offered her a chance to enter the world of Radio. Since the inception of her career, Sytonnia has worked for several shows including The Nationally Syndicated Real Life 101, Movement TV, Word on the Streets, The Video Zone, All Access DVD Magazine and Unique Discoveries. She has also worked on commercials for ADVIL, AVMed, KFC, Budweiser and the Disney Vacation Village to name a few and worked on the movies The Water Boy and Rosewood. Although she’s known to dabble in a little bit of everything, reporting is always close by. Sytonnia also worked as an Anchor, Health Reporter and Producer for WCJB-TV 20. In the single year that she worked for TV20, Sytonnia was awarded the Governor’s Award before opting to leave her contract early for a Midday position at WJHM-FM/102 Jamz in Orlando. Now, Sytonnia finally joins the V-103 family with a wealth of talent and experience. She also works as a reporter for sister station WAOK-News & Talk 1380.

It was like The BET Hip Hop Awards 2011 kicked off a day early as recording artists, actors and athletes streamed into the V-103 studios (and the swank, Straits-catered green room) from almost the moment The Frank and Wanda Morning Show opened the mic until The Ryan Cameron Show did “The Friday Song.”

(And the festivities only continued at the DTLR on Camp Creek Parkway, with Greg Street).
