The memorial is expected to draw thousands of mourners from across the United States and the world over in a show of support for Bryant his daugther and other victims.

The Staples Center has hosted other memorial services for other notable celebrities such as Michael Jackson and rapper Nipsey Hussle. The venue can host a crowd of near 20,000, which is far less than the capacity of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, another venue rumored to be under consideration.

Vanessa Bryant widow of Kobe has been moved by “every memorial” around the world paying tribute to her husband and their daughter Gianna, according to a report.  “Every memorial means something to her. Every memorial is important,” a source close to Vanessa told People magazine. The widow, was particularly moved by the 'moment of silence' for him at Sunday night’s football chamionship.  “She was aware of the championship tribute and she was touched,” the source told the outlet.
