V-103's Taelar Made interviews the leading cast of the new feature film Black and Blue

Featuring Tyrese Gibson, Naomie Harris, and Nafessa Williams.

October 24, 2019

This past Wednesday I had the pleasure of attending the Official Blue & Black Carpet Premiere for Deon Taylor’s latest impactful piece of work, BLUE AND BLACK.  With the smell of fresh butter popcorn in the air, extensive chatter of excitement all around and a packed out Ponce De Leon Theater, the leading lady of the night, Ms. Naomie Harris, arrived in a 3-piece black tailored suit accompanied by the perfect flirty undergarment.

As we spoke I quickly fell in love with her British accent, beautiful-humbleness and the passion behind every word she uttered.   From her role in the new action packed realistic thriller to her genuine passion for gardening, Naomie’s aura softly screams volumes.

As the night continued in walked the visionary himself, Deon Taylor.  Dapper down to the stitching in his all black ensemble Mr. Taylor’s message was clear and direct; it’s time to bring awareness to the corruption in the police forces across the nation.  As he educated us on the different situations that urged him personally to do this film, in walked another breathtaking beauty, Nafessa Williams, who plays, Missy, the best friend of Naomie’s character.

Wearing a custom oversized double-breasted coat with a sleek extra-extended ponytail Nafessa, who will also be starring as the lead role in Black Lighting was all smiles as we spoke on the positive impact she hopes Black and Blue will bring. As a lot of motion begins towards the start of the carpet, in walks Tyrese Gibson,  fashionably late, but well worth the wait and instantly let his message be heard: “GO SEE THIS MOVIE. It’s not like the other movies. It’s NOT EVEN A MOVIE. THIS IS REAL LIFE. It’s time to become AWARE and know the difference between snitching and whistleblowing.”   Simply urging unity and change amongst us all and urging us to use our impactful platform to help do so.

With many other popular faces such as T.C. Carson, Jamal Woolard and Lucky Johnson, who also co-stars in Black and Blue,  the premiere can is easily categorized as a success and my projection is the box office review come Monday will reflect the same.  Congratulations, in advance to the entire cast and production team of Black and Blue.  Job well done!
