Commemorative 'Trump defeats COVID' coin now available for pre-order

October 7, 2020

President Donald Trump’s triumph over COVID-19 is being celebrated in a unique way.

The White House Gift Shop, an online store not affiliated with the actual White House, has released a commemorative coin celebrating that the POTUS is on the mend.

“Trump defeats COVID” coins are currently available for pre-order.

The $100 coin is a party of a series designed by the gift shop chairman, Anthony Gianni.

The website describes the coins as the final installment in the series representing “President Trump’s ascendance over and defeat of the deadly COVID pandemic virus.”

The coin went on sale before the president was released from the hospital. No photo of the coin has been listed, but pre-orders will reportedly ship on November 14, 2020 after the upcoming election.

According to the website, 20% of the proceeds will be donated to COVID-19 prevention and cancer research.

Trump and first lady Melania Trump tested positive for COVID-19 on October 2.

After a brief stay at Walter Reed, he was discharged on Monday and landed at the White House on Marine One. He flashed a double thumbs-up before telling the public he felt “good.”

He reiterated "feeling really good," on Twitter writing: "Don't be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life."

He added: “We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!”

On Tuesday afternoon, a memo from Trump's physician Dr. Sean Conley said that the commander-in-chief continues "to report no symptoms” a day after returning from the hospital.
