Stacey Abrams: 'We Need to Win America Back'

Abrams addresses COVID-19 and gun violence with hundreds of gun safety supporters.

April 29, 2020

As Americans take shelter from one public health crisis, another continues to plague American families and communities.  Stacey Abrams along with Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action, and John Yang with Asian Americans Advancing Justice, shared their thoughts with hundreds of gun safety supporters on the disproportionate impact of gun violence and Covid-19 on communities of color and rising racism towards Asian American communities.

Abrams weighed in on the impact of COVID-19 on communities of color. She also addressed how elected officials should be addressing gun violence, and how important it is to elect leaders who will stand up for gun safety.

The conversation was streamed live on Everytown for Gun Safety's  Twitter and Facebook pages and is the first of a new series of virtual conversations with women leaders called “Demanding Women: Quarantine Conversations About Gun Violence.”
